Forms & Agreements

The TCO works directly with faculty, students, and industry to market and license innovative ideas and products. In the process, they help all respective parties sign the appropriate documentation for legal protection. This section will describe what some of those documents are, what kinds of agreements are necessary for legal protection, and how to disclose confidential information to the TCO. For more information on each subsection please see the navigation bar on the right side of the screen.

Guidelines on Agreements

A quick overview of agreements necessary to protect the inventor, the university, and the invention.

Technology Notification Forms

Inventors can submit a technology notification form through the Internet. This is not a complete disclosure or contract with the TCO. It is a preliminary notification to alert the TCO to a potential invention or desire to work through them.

Innovative Ideas Disclosure and Commercialization Project

An often overlooked area of innovation is the routine, yet novel, laboratory protocols and the instrumentation and reagents which support them.  A multi-billion dollar industry, generally referred to as the research tools business, has found its foundation in providing to researchers easy-to-use and improved procedures and processes which facilitate their research.

Confidential Disclosure

The Confidential Disclosure Agreement is the full disclosure of an idea or concept to the TCO. This document protects the invention and signals the inventor's desire to work with the TCO to commercialize the innovation. This form is usually filled out with a representative of the TCO.
