The Inventor's Guide is an introduction to the process of technology transfer at USU and a resource for all faculty and students. The guide is broken into four parts accessible through the navigation bar at the right side of the screen:
Sometimes defining an invention or identifying an idea or process that is marketable is a difficult task. This section discusses the difference between actual inventions and research results that are fit for publications.
Once you have an invention you would like to commercialize, it is time to start working with the TCO. In this section, you can learn about disclosure, how to contact the TCO, and the importance of the Confidentiality Disclosure Agreement.
The job isn't done after you have been to the TCO and disclosed the invention. The TCO will evaluate your idea using on-site resources and competent industry contacts to identify how to protect and market your idea.
